New notes (original brief at bottom)
I’ve gone ahead and uploaded the exact image of the Angry
God Face and Arch I was planning on using, but do not have the skills necessary
to make into a good book cover. I would be delighted if you could use this
exact image (I have a license to use this image).
I’ve also included an image of the kind of arch I am looking
I also uploaded the cover of my short story, Night’s Hunt,
which provides a great reference to the overall color scheme—lots of blues,
with hints of green around the edges, that should unobtrusively frame the image
of the Angry God and Arch, as well as provide depth to the image.
I will also need some room top and bottom for my name and
title, which will appear exactly the same as my other two books, The God King,
and Crown of the Setting Sun. What I mean by room is that I do not want to have
my name cut into the top of the Angry God’s forehead, nor the title to cut into
Please feel free to use your expertise to design a cover that really pops, all the way down to thumbnail size. I'm not sure how this can be done -- brightening the face, making it more prominent, changing the texture -- whatever it takes.
Hope this is clearer, and thanks so much for your patience!
I need an ebook cover for book three in my epic fantasy series. This is an ebook that will be featured on Amazon, so 2500 pixels high by 1600 pixels wide seems to work the best for their size requirements.
The scene I have in mind is at nighttime in a creepy tropical jungle. A cobblestone path leads to an archway spilling out pale blue light (I'm thinking the blocks of stone making up the arch might be hung with a little moss, and should look weathered and crusty, and maybe have some arcane runes/symbols carved into them).
Carved into the cliff above the arch is a large, sinister face. This face is the focal point of the image, and should almost loom off the book cover, like an angry god guarding the entrance to his inner sanctum. With that in mind, the archway needs to be quite a bit smaller than the face. As far as facial structure, I'm thinking long and angular. And like the archway, it should look weathered and old.
All around the face and arch is where the jungle foliage comes in. Nothing to obtrusive, just enough to loosely frame the image.
I have included the series' two previous book covers in order to provide an idea of style continuity. For a loose reference, I included the artwork that originally gave me the idea for the Angry God's Face. I really think my Night's Hunt cover is a good example of the way the blue light would interact with the jungle forest.
At this point, I am solely interested in only the cover art, so there is no need to worry about inserting the title or author name.
