Descrição do livro
Destination Author is a permission slip and a pathway to write your book in a way that feels good to you and gets it finished. With insight into the book-writing journey and options that take into account that everyone works differently, book editor Kris Emery gives you the path to self-publishing from end to end. Whether it's testing your idea or writing the words, making your manuscript into a real book or making it available for the world to read, Kris helps you navigate the whole book writing process even if you don't think you need or want a process. Destination Author is not a step-by-step guide, because if one size fits all, it fits no one. It's the overview, the lay of the land, the milestones you need to reach to get to the ultimate endpoint: being an author of your very first published book. How you do it is up to you!
The primary audience for this book is small business owners with a 1:1 service offering, such as consulting, coaching, business or personal service. Typically, these business owners are: holistic health practitioners, family health consultants, nutritionists and naturopaths, parenting, motherhood and birth consultants; business coaches and consultants, including niches like branding consultants, marketing consultants, launch consultants, finance and money mindset coaches; creative service providers like jewellers, designers, stylists, photographers, branding specialists, editors, writers and so on; spiritual and wellness service providers like Ayurveda consultants, yoga teachers, meditation and mindfulness teachers, Feng Shui experts, self-care coaches and so on. Though the business is small, they likely have the support of a team so that they can remain in the role of expert. They care about being seen as a leader or go-to person in their industry, and while they are writing a book for a generalist audience (their typical clients), they want it to stand up as a quality piece of writing as seen by their peers. They believe in self-growth and learning. They are likely to read a lot but are more creators of content than consumers of it, when it comes to videos and podcasts. They are highly likely to write content and copy for their business and have successfully developed a voice and message for their business. However, they know that a book is a different ball game, and they want to do it right. They care deeply about producing quality, but there is a conflict between this and a tight timescale, because their expertise is in demand, not only by their audience, but by their own ambitions. They are highly visible and known online, but also may do in-person speaking events, and this could contribute to deadline pressure if they are working to produce a book in time for an event. The secondary audience for this book are writers who have more time on their hands and deeply personal books to write. Likely to be memoir, focusing on a particular theme and period of their life, they have more leisure to write this and often more attachment to the story they need to tell. They still have the desire to help their audience achieve something, usually healing. They may not be fully healed from their own circumstances and might require more support getting the words down, but they do have a passion for telling the story, even if emotions are more in play. They are usually writing to the people who are where they used to be, and may not have such a developed voice or audience. Alternatively, they may be heavily involved in support groups that assist others through their own crisis time or in the process of setting up a business or group, inspired from their own triumph over adversity. Writers in this audience may tackle: overcoming abuse or self-abuse, overcoming illness or serious health scare, living with illness, traumatic births, near-death experiences, dealing with drug addiction (their own or a family member’s), sobriety, eating disorders, bereavement, poverty, difficult childhoods and other traumas that have led them down a self-help path. Age: Approaching 40 Gender: Mostly female Location: Mostly in Australia (some UK, Europe, Canada, US)

Comentário do cliente
Great work. I loved the cover, but needed a pretty important change and accepted the cover with the informal understanding that Yna would do the fix...indeed, fixed as requested and I love it.
