Theme: Iconic Charleston, SC law firm; small market area, traditional values, deep historical legacy, and contemporary/progressive area relative to surrounding area
Theory: Charleston, South Carolina (United States of America) is known as the “Holy City” due to the tolerance and progressive nature of this early British colonial city. Historic colonial Church steeples dominate the city skyline here because historic preservation regulation prohibits building taller than the church in the historic overlay area of this early British colonial city.
Rational: Our firm services a unique local market and client base. Our law firm already has a know brand color identity and domain which is used as a trade name too (HolyCityLaw). Now we are seeking to expound upon our existing brand and create a broader based identity package.
LOGO GOALS/NOTES (logo ought to incorporated the following):
Iconic Bridge and City Skyline with local Church Steeple Silhouettes (Law Firm domain name is www. "HolyCityLaw" .com).
Please conform submission to our existing brands three (3) color scheme noted above in “color notes” section (Blue “cadet gray”, Yellow “sweetgrass”, Black “wrought iron”).
COMPANY NAME (expression/notes):
Taylor Alderman represents the last names of two individuals, Mr. Taylor and Mr. Alderman. They are “named” law partners. To distinguish the firm name from that of a single individual, each last name is expressed by the Firm's existing and recognized brand color scheme. “Taylor” = BLUE (cadet grey), Alderman = YELLOW (“sweetgrass”), and all other text or shapes are BLACK (wrought iron).
Importantly, these colors were selected to conform with the Historical colors of the City as required by Historic Preservation requirements of Charleston, SC.
The designer to prevail will have likely examined our current brand package, which we are pleased and merely seek to expound upon and enhance (uploaded to contest brief in “attachments”; the brand package uploaded and presently in use includes letterhead, envelopes, business cards, etc.).
The prevailing designer will likely have carefully examined the images uploaded too. The uploaded images were carefully selected to give designers an idea of the city skyline, iconic bridge and imagery we wish to be incorporated into our new Firm logo. The church steeples dominate the city skyline here because historic preservation regulation prohibits building taller than the church in the historic overlay area of this early British colonial city, further expounding upon the city’s nickname (“the Holy City”).
