The company and product is pretty technical but they want a user-friendly and modern look to the button.
The audience will be IT or network administrators setting up equipment so the image needs to be clean and essentially no-frills. However, because IT stuff is usually pretty ugly, I still want it to look a little bubbly and fun. Just fun within boundaries.
The button is made up of 6 hot spots (see attached image.) One hot spot for each:
- Pan left
- Pan right
- Pan up
- Pan down
- Zoom in
- Zoom out
No text can be on the image (although + and - are pretty standard in the industry for zoom in and zoom out.)
On the attached image, the arrows denote the left/right/up/down panning buttons and the middle zone is the zoom in/out. The overall form needs to stay about the same (4 arrows placed like in the image with a center divided into two parts) but the look and feel can vary as long as the "hot spots" are obvious to a user.
Remember, this is for IT/technical folks and is business-oriented so don't get overly fanciful or dreamy.
