I'm a software designer and do a fair amount of graphic design but I have almost no drawing talent.
Adults, age 12 to 112. Non technical, non-computer users.
6 Icons total (of which 4 and 2 are variations on a theme) :
5 Windows Program icons.
We will need the 256 pixel (Vista), 48 pixel, 32, 24,16 pixel versions. ).
These are all similar programs so you may be able to reuse some design elements to both make them seem more "cohesive" and related and save yourself some work.
3 icons for use within a program (not a program icon). Only need one size of these.
Goals (in descending order of importance) here are :
1. Looking professionally drawn
2. Being clear and recognizable.
3. Differentiate between "+Outloud" and the plain versions of programs.
4. Convey something about the programs the icons are for.
They do NOT need to be particularly unique from any other application icon.
