Akili Kids! is the first free-to-air digital content network broadcasting educational children's entertainment platform in Kenya, distributing content across TV, mobile devices and the Internet. Kenya has 20 million children under the age of 14, with a total population of 44 million in the country (so almost 50%). There are currently no children's television or children's brands in the country, so this is completely new for Kenya,

I really need to find a logo that can be easily expanded upon visually - anything too complex or elaborate can become costly. I like the way PBSkids.com approached their designs, simple and easy to replicate. That said, this is a Kenyan kids television channel brand first. Need it to feel Kenyan, East African. I would like it to be fun and easily understood. Should appeal to kids up to 14, so not to babyish. Akili means intelligent in Swahili. I created the original logo and color palette (attached) using a font called Asam Kelubi. I like that it looks block-like, almost cut out, but readable. Color palette is an alternative rainbow - can't use a rainbow in Kenya as a country they are averse to LGBTQ and there is a perceptive relationship (sadly). I am also interested in doing a branding kit, but the platform doesn't allow for me to choose it in this process. You can see a little more information on akilinetwork.com.
