Wellspring is the new name for a counseling agency in Springfield, Ohio, which has heretofore been known as Family Service Agency. It is a sliding-scale counseling center which focuses on mental and behavioral health. The organization needs to shed its image as a social service agency or welfare organization -- of which it is,and never has been, either. It does allow people of all income levels to receive counseling for family and individuals on a sliding fee scale based on income. The organization offers programs for families and individuals, including a program called Families and Schools Together (FAST) that works with the schools to offer counseling services for students and their families when their problems transcend the classroom.
Mostly low- to moderate-income level families and individuals who are troubled. They may have common behavioral/mental health issues, such as depression or job loss, to severe problems like alcoholism, abuse or homelessness. Most of our audience will be seeking someone to help them... a trusted friend in a time of need.
We need a logo designed to include the name Wellspring and the tagline "Empowering a better you". The name Wellspring was chosen because of the multiple meanings included: Well - means better, healthier; Wellspring means a fountain of hope; spring is symbolic of change and new birth; spring can also be a coil that bounces you forward or an oasis of water that provides nourishment and refreshment to one's body and soul.
Design considerations: It would be interesting to see how hope/refreshment could spring from the "i," but we are also interested in things that might show reflection or the human element. We are open to color suggestions, but would like calming and reassuring color combinations. Printing will be done digitally in most cases so 4-color is okay.
The logo needs to be easily reproduced in many different applications, including on a shirt or web site. We will need it as CS4 (preferably) Illustrator file or eps, pdf, jpg and png (with no background), as well as reverse options.
