We are rabid baseball fans launching a network to connect baseball lovers around the globe. May be a NING network or similar. The brand logo should be fun and engaging to serious and casual baseball fans.

The target audience is serious baseball fans. Since we are a social network, these are probably somewhat tech. savvy baseball fans. The demographic we are targeting primarily is Men age 22-45. These are people who watch ESPN sportcenter, read up on stats and get sports opinions from bloggers. They are Web2.0 users. Baseball is America's favorite pastime, and while rich in tradition and nostalgia, Major League Baseball leads all professional sports with respect to technological innovation. The same fans/consumers that drive that innovation will be instrumental in the success of our network.
The logo needs to speak to baseball fans. I'll upload some images that can help with art-direction, but the logo should also lend itself to the design of a related icon/avatar image for use across the web.
The jersey image is to show pinstripes and script on a jersey. One direction may be to write "Clubhouse" in script across an illustration of a jersey, so I included a rough hand sketch of that concept.
I am by no means tied to that concept, so please don't feel limited creatively to trying to execute it. I'm hoping for something fresh and engaging. Colors are flexible, but I'd like to stay within a "traditional" color palette. (No teal even if the Florida Marlins use it, etc.)
