My aim for this podcast is to help parents of young kids hover less, give their kids room to take risks and even make mistakes, while also building parents' confidence and leadership skills to better advocate for their children out in the world.
The podcast appeals primarily to parents of children under nine who experience every day how society's balance has tipped away from sane child-rearing. The modern focus on unforgiving rules governing every aspect of a kid's life outside the home creates (not surprisingly) angry, depressed, even medicated children whose enthusiasm and creativity get stamped out of them early on.
One such listener is Beth, mom to Charlie, age 7, whose first grade experience is remaking this formerly enthusiastic, friendly boy into something else entirely. He fights about homework every day, he's losing weight and has a stomachache every morning; emails arrive weekly – if not daily – about his disruptive, unfocused, angry behavior in school. In conferences, Charlie's teacher hints that a psychological evaluation and medication might be necessary. But, Beth doesn't think Charlie needs any kind of diagnosis – he is a boy! A young boy who needs movement and inspiration in his education.
Beth, her husband Dave, and many parents like them believe the problem is not so much with their child as it is with the stressful requirements being placed upon all children. We Turned Out Okay aims to help Beth and the whole target audience shift the balance back to where Charlie, and his peers, return to their enthusiastic, lively, friendly selves.

One idea I've had for the logo image: that of a boy and girl, or maybe a family, doing something kind of risky together – like holding hands and jumping off a big rock, or jumping across the stream… The idea being that as kids, we have to take these literal and figurative leaps and then we turn out okay.
I'd like the logo to be warm and fun, but without being too cutesy
An idea that I've had for the logo is a sort of "good housekeeping seal of approval" kind of look – A bit like the logo for the Mortified podcast, which I cannot find a way to link into this creative brief
My favorite combination of colors is orange and rust complemented by dark/navy blues
Podcast is warm, fun and funny, with lots of storytelling
Emphasis on parents taking a stand, doing what feels right for their children
Features creative, bootstrapping solutions, to help parents both advocate for their kids and support their children as they work through their problems
The closest subject I found up in the Industry tab was Child care; but really, this is more about parenting, child-rearing than something like daycare.
