Creative logo for Web 2.0 site that supports schools

We are a for benefit organization dedicated to building strong online school communities and helping raise funds for schools. We provide social networking tools to school communities to enable them to communicate more effectively and provide them with new ways to enhance their fundraising efforts.

Our audience consists of 3 main constituents: Schools, Parents, and Businesses.

We are looking for a logo that integrates the following elements

1) Logo should have some graphic elements (ideally a human element - especially one that emotes parent/child or teacher/child), not just text - it's OK to combine text and graphics - will look to you for ideas on whether the two are always integral or whether they can stand on their own.

2) Imagery should support the "Wave" (I envision ocean waves, or a crowd doing a wave in a stadium). Basically we want a wave of support for schools.

3) Colors - we're leaning toward something blue (again ties to wave). If it looks good on our site that would be a major bonus.

4) Logo should look good in print and online, ideally it would look good in single color (like letterhead or business cards)It's OK and maybe even desirable (?) if there's a screen-oriented version (with more subtle shading, etc.) and a print version.

5) It would be a bonus if we can come up with a part of the logo to show up in the 16x16 (or is it 15x15) firefox bookmark.

6) We'd like all of the original artwork (e.g. Layered PSDs)

7) The full name including ".org" is part of the type for branding.

Basically the idea is parents and businesses coming together in a community and supporting schools.
