Center for the Management of Information Systems
The Texas A&M University Center for the Management of Information Systems (CMIS) provides a competitive advantage to its student, faculty, and industry members by facilitating an active partnership (aligning needs and resources) to provide robust, relevant educational opportunities, research support and corporate access.
To achieve our mission, CMIS engages a highly active and innovative corporate membership who facilitates the CMIS mission through coordination, participation, and sponsorship. CMIS seeks to provide member organizations a competitive advantage through participation in CMIS activities.
See the following websites that have other relevant information about who we are:
-- http://cmis.tamu.edu - our existing website which describes the events and activities we host
-- http://mays.tamu.edu - our center is sponsored by an academic department in the Mays Business School
Our current logo is attached. While this logo has served us well for several years, we feel the logo look and feel is "dated." We will use the new logo as the first step in a digital makeover to improve our online presence (i.e., revise our current website).
-- Current and prospective students in the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University
-- Current and prospective faculty members
-- Mays Business School administrators
-- Current and prospective members of our corporate advisory board
We plan to use the logo on brochures (both digital and paper), website, promotional flyers, presentations, t-shirts for events, etc.
The new logo should incorporate both the full name of the center (i.e., "Center for the Management of Information Systems") divided across 2 or 3 lines and the center acronym (i.e., "CMIS"). In addition, the logo needs a graphic that represents who we are and ties the logo together. See attachments for examples of how we will use the acronym logo by itself and with the full center name (both horizontal and vertical).
Some key words that could be communicated with the graphic: global, connectivity, information technology, networking, business, fast pace, change, information systems, etc.
We like the idea that faculty, students, and industry are working together implied by the University of Arizona (http://mis.eller.arizona.edu/partnering) (see attached ArizonaIntegrationExample.jpg). Entries that represent the collaboration among students, faculty, and industry will (in general) receive higher ratings.
For color and other related information, see the Texas A&M University brand guide (http://brandguide.tamu.edu). At a minimum, "Aggie Maroon" must be included in the overall color scheme.
We require the following files:
- unlocked vector file
- layered .psd file (background of all layers should be transparent) (RGB)
- unlocked .ai file (CMYK)
- .jpg
Please do not use stock images or clipart in the logo.
