Texas A&M University is home to one of the nation's leading equine academic and veterinary science programs, besides being one of the nation's overall leading universities with more than 50,000 students. It is launching a new institute to provide an umbrella link between its current college of veterinary medicine with its department of equine sciences under the college of agriculture.
The equine undergraduate and graduate program at Texas A&M features educational resources on all components of the Texas horse industry, including production, industry and research.
Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine is one of only 31 colleges of veterinary medicine in the United States and Canada. From highly sophisticated veterinary practices serving the residents of Texas and their animals, to military, industrial, government, and university roles, Aggie veterinarians hold positions of prestige and responsibility.

More than 950,000 Texans who are horse industry participants, and the more than 289,000 Texas horse owners. Particular appeal should be to the 18-45 audience to attract students to the university, while at the same time providing a level of sophistication to the branding that will appeal to an older audience. Class and style should be prevalent.
This audience if very familiar with the equine body, frame and line and correctness is extremely important. They are attracted to images which speak to the beauty of the horse as well as its athleticism.
The logo should include the words Texas A&M University Institute for Equine Science and Technology. An ampersand (&) may be used for the word "and." Emphasis should be given Equine Science and Technology or just the word Equine.
The logo should have an iconic image included that can be easily applied to caps, shirts, stationary, etc. The client uses this logo as a point of reference for this look from the Colorado State University Equine Sciences program: http://www.growinggreenhorses.com/i…e_logo.jpg. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DUPLICATE. However, it gives you an idea of what the client is looking for in an iconic image that would be recognizable as their brand.
