We aren’t travel agents – we are travel researchers and travel consultants. Booking a vacation is the least of our worries. The business is targeting all travelers, focusing on honeymooners who are busy planning their wedding and need help planning a honeymoon, and also retirees who have money to spend but not always the skills or the time to plan a perfect vacation!
My "ideal" customer is a 30-year old, engaged, working professional. She comes home at night, says "Honey, let's go on a vacation to Southeast Asia for our honeymoon. I've heard that it is a really spectacular place." But both of them are busy with wedding planning, with their jobs, with everything else going on in their life, and they don't know where to start. How do you even plan a trip like this? They are already paying people left and right for wedding services -the florist, the dress, the church, etc, so what is a couple hundred dollars more to have someone plan you the trip of a lifetime? That is where itinerary comes in - we do the leg work for you. We plan a customized trip based upon your needs. We don't just hook you up with a tour group or put you in a Marriot in Rome. We look for small hotels, great little towns, awesome excursions, to make the trip about you.
I want something clean and simple, yet something modern. Something that evokes a travel energy and sense, but nothing too forward - no planes, no globes, nothing that a typical travel agency would use as their logo. I played around with the idea of the business name (itinerary, all lowercase) in a block lettering with a map in the background (see attached). I liked how it had the map and was clean and simple, but I thought it was still outdated looking and didn't display a "travel' sense as much as I was hoping.
Modern is most important to me - this business is not a typical travel agency. We aren't booking tours, cruises, etc. We are working with adventurous travelers, people looking for something different, people who are willing to spend the extra money to have a trip of a lifetime. I want the logo to embody that - clean and simple and modern. Yet still travel related. This is where I lack the creativity to come up with what I want!
