Think Impact focuses on the next generation of leaders – providing a program for students to offer ideas, leadership, and capital to leverage social innovation and local community resources to alleviate poverty. Think Impact has connected college students from dozens of campuses nationwide and recent graduates with rural villages in Africa to become social entrepreneurs.
Through a new kind of development based on social entrepreneurship, Think Impact fellows create sustainable business models for development projects and mobilize community leaders to implement them. Think Impact’s participants offer these communities human resources and innovative ideas to confront local health and education challenges.
Think Impact runs the Global Development Internship to South Africa and Kenya to lay the groundwork for new projects while the Fellowship program continues year round.
To build sustainable communities, a sustained commitment is necessary.
Think Impact participants learn through doing – and develop projects from beginning to end. Think Impact has a people-powered model that fosters entrepreneurship and leverages local community resources to build sustainable development projects.
