This logo doesn't have to be complex. It can be simple, guys! Here's a nice simple logo: http://www.thoughtspacedesigns.com/…design.png
You don't need to have much going on in this logo. Simple and clean is preferred over complicated and fancy. Seems like a lot of the designers submitting have done full recreations of the photos I included. That's a fine direction to take, but I'd love to see some people suggest simple designs.
I own a vacation home (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2224026) and I want to create a better brand identity for it. I want something I can display online, in the home (perhaps making a sign out of it) and something that could be transformed into a sign that says "39º brewing". We have a keggerator and I wanted to get a custom tap handle made that says that, but I want it to match the look of the logo. Custom tap handle sample: https://img0.etsystatic.com/019/1/7…4_29tu.jpg
I chose the name "Latitude 39 Lodge" because the 39th parrallel latitude line runs right through Lake Tahoe. So it might be smart to play off that with some kind of geographic imagery like a compass or map or latitudinal lines. Seems like a visual of a house/cabin could be worked into the logo. You can look at the photos on https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2224026 to see what the house looks like from the outside.
The home is in Lake Tahoe, in the mountains. So you could also use the visuals of the region — mountains, the lake, trees, the sun, etc. Lake Tahoe itself has a very distinctive shape on a map that people are familiar with, so you could work that if you want to.
Target audience: This logo will be seen by people looking to rent my home, and while they're at the home.
