Aviadi Foundation is building a simple, easy and effective way for relief organization (such as hospitals, NGO’s, orphanages and missionary groups) to post 'missions' on a web based platform that reflect humanitarian needs.
An example of a mission would be:
Relief organization (a Hospital Les Cayes, Haiti): We needs to 200 lbs of Antibiotics in the next 48hrs. 14 children are in critical condition from a lack of this medicine, we need the antibiotics within 72 hours…etc.
These posted missions will then be picked up by mission providers (“Hero’s”) who volunteer their time and resources and commit to completing the mission.
An example of a mission provider (a hero) would be:
Mission Provider (a Hospital): We can donate 200lbs of antibiotics, we are in Rhode Island, US.
Mission Provider (a Pilot): We can carry 200lbs of antibiotics in our plane and are available for pickup and delivery right now and can be in Les Cayes airport within 24hrs.
Each mission will also have a fundraising component and the site will enable simple tools to assist the relief organizations and mission providers to raise the funds required to complete the mission.
An example of a donor would be:
Donor: I need an easy site where I can contribute funds directly to a specific mission, and then see the impact my donation has via the pictures and stories about the successfull mission. Avaidi provides this.
This whole idea came together as we were making flights into Haiti (we were acting like mission providers). We found that all of these components could be consolidated onto a site and scaled much more effectively, so we decided to form Aviadi. Here are some pictures from our missions:
