** This contest is for a logo for a brand of stationery products (notebooks, notepads, diaries, planners etc). But I'm also looking to set up an online store for the brand, which means I'll be asking the winning designer to work with me 1-on-1 to create a colour scheme and style guide based on the logo (also paid). Please only enter the contest if you are willing to do this, and if you could indicate a colour scheme with the logo, that would be awesome.**
STARGAZER is a brand of stationery products, and online store, that inspires millennials to live true to self, nurture their creativity, and continually improve themselves. The logo must convey values such as: authenticity and genuineness, passion, creativity, artistry, optimism, personal growth. (It might not be possible to nail all of these in the logo, so I'm asking you to exercise your design expertise in terms of which of these you can emphasise.)
What's unique about the brand is that the stationery products have the (curated) artworks of various talented artists printed on them. The artworks will also be displayed and promoted on the online store. These artworks may differ considerably in style and visual aesthetic - they could be of people, nature or animals; masculine or feminine in aesthetic; light and whimsical or dark and moody. This means that the colour scheme has to accommodate this, and not clash.
As an example of this diversity of artwork that could be featured on the products (and website), take a look at this Pinterest board: https://www.pinterest.com/inyourtim…ed-on-pro/
The target customers are male and female millennials/Gen Y people, who may be stuck in a job, or studying something they don't really enjoy. They're creative people who dream of a life more compelling than the 9-5 office life. So when choosing the logo and colour scheme, you can exercise a bit of flexibility between feminine and masculine, just don't alienate either sex entirely (e.g. it can be a bit feminine, but not so girly that it's off-putting to males).
