Newly established Norwegian company that develop web based solutions, using open source software, to manage the soil resources in modern farming. We are targeting the Scandinavian and European market.
The application is based around an ExtJS framework (Office 2003 look), the maps typically have pastel colors similar to those on maps.google.com. Also see the attached screenshot, which shows the application performing a geostatistical analysis of the point data the user has entered.
Jordplan AS' mission is to provide a cost effective and easy to use map based database for managing earth resources and the use of fertilizers and keep track of the crops requirements
The solution creates a database for each user, which takes care of the users' crops, and the application pulls in additional information from national mapping resources, orthophotos (satellite imagery), soil quality maps, water resources and environmental data.
So basically you have a mashup of background information, and then you draw polygons that describe your crops. Additionally you can add information about the crop or soil sample via a grid. You repeat this once a year, and you can use geostatistics to analyze how soil values affect your crop, and determine where you need to spread more fertilizer or lime.
