"Go out on a limb, thats where the fruit is." thats our motto!
We need a logo designed for an independent motion picture production company that would eventually be used on stationary, signage, website and animated in opening title sequences at the beginning of each our feature films. "Danger Film Company" could be abbreviated to "Danger Film Co." if the design warrants it.
Danger Film Company
Our logo will need to represent a strong, masculine, image that does not read as one specific "movie genre". Danger film Company is a company that takes smart calculated risks, thinking outside the box. We are edgy, with bad-boy, rebellious philosophy. "Go out on a limb, thats where the fruit is." thats our motto! Although we are slated to make different "genre" films (horror, Drama, Comedy) we do not want our logo to be "genre specific", especially horror. Danger Film Company seeks, develops, and produces low- to mid-budget projects ranging from $500,000 to $5,000,000 for worldwide distribution. Our mission is to find and cultivate projects from all genres for development into commercial feature films with domestic and international appeal. Danger Film Company produces commercially viable feature films that have a truly independent spirit. The logo should appeal to the creative as well potential financial investors. http://www.dangerfilmcompany.com
Our logo must consist of a typographical solution for our name and a graphic logo. A logo could be incorporated in the typography, although separate elements would be preferred. We seem to gravitate to San-Serif fonts. Clean and Bold. statement: "bad boy / rebellious"
I encourage you to look at our competition. Edgy without overstatement! PARAMOUNT VANTAGE, ROGUE PICTURES, LAKESHORE ENTERTAINMENT, LEGENDARY PICTURES, MORGAN CREEK PRODUCTIONS, REVOLUTION STUDIOS, SCOTT FREE PRODUCTIONS, WORKING TITLE FILMS, WARNER INDEPENDENT PICTURES, LIONSGATE, THE WEINSTEIN COMPANY, DIMENSION FILMS, ICON, STUDIO CANAL
One idea that we are attracted to is urban graffiti. a "Banksy" style urban grit for the logo imagery combined with clean bold typographic solution for the company name. One good reference is the book "Banksy: Wall and Piece".Banksy uses black spray paint and cut cardboard to produce such strong social statements. Using sprayed graffiti as the logo could be a nicely animated in an opening title sequence. Although urban graffiti is interesting to us we urge all designers to "be ballsy and think outside the box".
Our logo has to look good on a black t-shirt.
We DO NOT WANT ANY FILM OR MOVIE ICONS, No film strip, film reels, movie seats, directors chairs, tickets, popcorn or any stereotypical film stuff of any kind! We are also not interested in lightning bolts or any kind of "dangerous" or "hazardous" icons that allude "caution" . Please do not abbreviate our company to "DFC". We prefer the typographical solution of our company name not to be treated with a texture. The danger should come from the logo, not a texture on the font.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUBMISSIONS!!
