I've got a sailboat - we've finally got around to naming it "Timeline". It was going to be "Critical Path", but some didn't like that idea (thought it sounded too much like a heart attack!). The name came from my personality - I work hard - I am always working from a task list - I'm focused on getting things done - I'm always looking for the best and most effective way to accomplish a job. My compnay name - VMG - means Velocity Made Good - it's a sailing term - it's about the most efficient way to get from point "A" to point "B". "Timeline" is about the same - we've got a plan - we're working towards a destination.
"Target Audience" in this case is not really applicable - to the extent there is a target audience it's people and other boats that see you on the water.
I'm looking for a graphical representation to go with the name - something I can use on the transom (stern) with the name - something that can go on the bow with the name - something that I can use on shirts and hats for crew.
The name/logo needs to include the boat name (Timeline) and it's port of registry (Bedford) - both need to be incorporated.
It needs to be clear enough to be readable.
The attached pictures show the transom (stern) of the boat where on version can go - note that there is a lot of "stuff" there to work around. The name (without the port of registry) should also go on the bow - but it might be different (less graphical) there. There are also pictures of the bow. And the pictures both show the boat under sail and ashore stored.
Clearly anything that is done needs to work with the color of the boat (Flag Blue). The boat is a C&C 44 - C&C's colors are red, white and blue. The C&C logo is in the top left corner of this web site:
The secondary color on the boat is a light grey - used in the dodger.
I'm looking for something that attaracts interest/attention without being "over the top".
I don't have any specific thoughts now on graphical elements - except I don't think it's a clock/watch - or related to time in that manner.
