The Social Welfare History Project
The Social Welfare History project was started a decade ago to identify, collect, and tell the stories of American efforts to promote the well-being of its people. The rich and vibrant complexity of institutions and programs that make up the American social welfare landscape have had and continue to have profound effects on the lives of all Americans and we want to tell that story.
You can think of the site/program as a unique history archives. We have a network of scholars in many different fields that contribute unique historical articles, stories, experiences, photos and documents that are not found anywhere else in the world.
The site is undergoing a complete face lift, with the logo being the cornerstone of the transformation.
Conte para a gente quem é você e quem é seu público alvo
Half of our audience are people interested in learning specifics about social welfare: someone doing research for a paper or exploring facts about an organization. The site also serves as a learning and discovery tool for people who might not be aware of the impact of these programs and institutions have: someone looking into becoming a social worker or simply someone interested in the history of America.
We need a logo to represent what we are preserving... this history of American Social Welfare. We want something clean, crisp and cool.
While the good ol' red white and blue can be used, we would like the logo to be a bit more creative and not rely on the colors to express what we're doing. No waving flags with "SWHP" on it!
Another cliche we want to try to avoid is an open book with a quill pen or something a long those lines.... we want something awesomely creative!
