Artsicle
Welcome to Artsicle! We are a startup web company creating a website to connect artists to collectors and art patrons. We are passionate about contemporary artists, helping them build their careers, and connecting them with those who love art.
Our site is designed to:
-Connect artists with micro-financing (small, short term loans) \.
-Provide artists an opportunity to market themselves and their work.
-Create a community of collectors and patrons, who can contribute to the artists' loans and find new pieces to purchase.
-Offer a marketplace for artists to sell work online, allowing them to repay their loans and build their collector base.
Our target audience is:
Consumers:
- Current patrons of the arts (think of your average Modern Art Museum member) looking to engage with the arts in a new way
- 20-to-30 somethings starting to decorate a first home or looking to start collecting art
- Anyone looking to be on the cutting edge of the contemporary art community, learning about new talent and having access to their work first (very early adopters)
Artists:
- Young, straight out of their MFA program and looking to get established in the art world.
- Producing original, edgy work and in need of a market
- More established artists looking to reach a global market while further building their reputation
We are looking for a logo to represent 'Artisicle'. The logo can be the word itself as a stand alone, or have a separate symbol representing the brand with the word. Artsicle is one word. The 'a' can be capitalized or not.
An optional tagline to include is 'Make Art Happen.'
We are looking to convey a sense of high energy, youth, & progress/success. It is a web business, so a bit of that Web 2.0 edgy flair, combined with the sophistication of the art market is the ideal balance.
Any bright color choices are fine - none chosen yet on our end.
The logo will be used across a variety of mediums - from our website to a twitter/facebook avatar, as well as potential merchandise branding. We need something that will look good across them all - from a business card to a t-shirt.
*We're looking to build a relationship here. Should we find a designer who understands our brand and whose work we like, we expect to have a variety of additional projects in the near future. Yep, additional paid work coming your way!*
To avoid grumpiness, we don't want:
- Paint brushes or Paint palettes of any type (the site is for all types of art)
- Pastel or feminine colors (sorry, just not our thing)
- Human or animal characters. However, a fictional mascot would be acceptable and fine by us
- And don't get carried away with the whole 'popsicle' nature of the name
