Servants is a Christian mission that works in slums and inner cities in Asia and the West (have a look at our website: http://www.servantsasia.org). We think of ourselves more as a movement than an organization.
We are mostly youngish, very relational, non-corporate, non-institutional, grassroots, committed to social justice and a simple lifestyle, building community.
Our personality is low key, humble, relational, friendly (but not cuddly or cutesy), informal, a bit edgy.
The target audience is fairly broad but with an emphasis on people committed to social justice mainly in their 20's and 30's.
Our target audience are people just like us!
The logo should reflect our grassroots ethos (nothing too corporate, shiny or professional looking, nothing web 2.0, nothing computer-y or futuristic).
The logo should incorporate the word "servants" and should also be able to use geographical modifiers that show the country or city. (eg. Servants Vancouver, Servants Cambodia, Servants Australia)
The logo should not use the words "to asia's urban poor" which were part of our previous logo.
It should be simple (we are simple!)
Some continuity with our old logo (see attached) would be nice but is not essential.
It would be good if the logo reflected our commitment to relationships and people (without corny stick figures holding hands across a globe)
If you incorporate a cross or some other Christian element it should be subtle rather than tacky.
Attached is a lino print that turned out to be too complex for our logo but we like the feel of this image (ancient, yet postmodern, grassroots).
Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo.
The files we will require are: high resolution web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB) [with just the word "servants" and also a couple of examples of "servants" + country name]
