Magic + Technology = Logo for web analytics company

Our product is a modern approach to web log analysis and it works like Google Analytics.

We're creating an identity that's part magic, part technology. We are looking for a modern, sleek logo that combines a strict, official-looking "coin" with an element of magic coming out of it.

The "magic" lines have three inspirations:

1) Imagine that Pixar Studios animated a Chinese dragon tail. Think about the colors, shapes and a sense of motion that they would use.

2) Check out http://www.akamai.com (they use curves as part of their main slideshow)

3) Imagine taking a tennis ball, taping colorful paper streamers to it, and throwing the ball sideways. The "tail" part of our logo could look similar.

We are looking for an 2D illustrator design. It must look great at large and small sizes. Only vector-based designs will be accepted. Please read the brief for important information.

- Our proposed design is the ONLY ONE that we want.  Please don't create a completely different contest entry, it will not win this contest.
- This is silly to say, but we have to say it:  We don't want our logo to look like a sperm. 
- Please don't duplicate our proposal one-to-one.  We're looking for a much more beatiful and artistic representation of our concept.
