The Mason Jar Foundation
My wife and I have decided to start a non-profit focused on supporting charities & causes that have deeply affected our lives (Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, Alzheimers, Heart & Stroke. The concept will be similiar to Salesforce.com's 1/1/1 model. Where we dedicate a certain number of volunteer hours to organizations that we support, a certain amount of money through grants and donations, and a certain amount of product (Mason Jar "coin collector/piggy banks") to the communities in which we live, work & play. We have always been big in to philanthropy and voluneteering from when we first met in University and this a great opportunity to continue making an impact as a team.
Ages: 22 - as young as you feel
For the events we will be hosting, we will be targetting mainly people just entering the workforce (22yrs) to people who are young enough to play in a baseball tournament (50-60 yrs maybe older depending on who you speak with. We don't really want to put an age cap. The core values will be FUN, Integrity, Impactful, Low Adminsitrative costs, & Green (for saving the environment). There will be three pillars Events (Baseball/Golf tournaments Gala/Black Tie events, etc), Doers (a group of voluneteers that go to different outings, Donations (people that provide money for the causes).
I would like the logo to be a "Mason Jar" but I would like it to look sketched versus computer generated. Perhaps it could say The Mason (Picture of a Mason Jar with coins filled almost half way) Jar and on the jar itself it could say foundation and underneath the word foundation it reads ~since 2010~
Those are just my thoughts I am sure the experts know better!
