I'm looking for something minimalist & sleek that could also pass for ancient. Think ancient Greece, ancient Egypt, tribal societies, etc. If the image looks like it could be carved into a cave wall or tattooed on someone, you're on the right track.
I will use the logo as a stamp as well, so thinking about this design like a print will be helpful. Less shadow/modern effects and more silhouettes. Creating texture through line work would be an interesting direction to take this in. I also really love geometric shapes. If the logo is contained within a circle or a circle-like space that'd be lovely, but not necessary. I'd prefer not to have the name incorporated into the logo unless it looks awesome and works well with the design.
The designs I find myself drawn to are usually of animals (like the snake that is the current working logo). Animals that may be cool to play around with include: snakes, bees, birds, spiders, deer, and cats. Or, something incorporating animals in a smaller way, like the snake mandala. I also really like shapes that are composed of smaller designs, like the feather below. The feather is a little too cutesy for me, but something along those lines is great. See the bird tattoo I designed for ideas: the head is a spiral, body composed of lines, etc.

Consider these as general guidelines, not hard and fast rules. I'm interested in seeing what everyone comes up with. Thanks for participating!
