Software Company Logo Design

We need a logo for our new software company "Sporran Software" that is an original design, portrays simplicity, fun and has bags (!) of character. As I am sure you all will, please read the full brief to find out exactly what we are looking for.

Sporran Software

We need a logo that will be used in our "About" boxes in the software (Desktop PC based), used in the website and in print. Ideally we would like the graphic to be standalone from the text mainly for use in our software titles.

Sporran Software is all about creating simple software from a user's perspective - hiding all the complexity under the hood as it were. The logo design should reflect this if possible. The sporran idea is to represent a nice simple outer with all the power underneath ;)

We design and write software for the small & medium business markets and need a brand that stands out and is easily identifiable. The logo should be be based on a sporran somewhere along the line, and for those that have never seen one, here is a link to a store that sells loads.

We are open to all styles of logo from character-based to web 2.0 and everything in between.

File formats should at least be vector based so we can use them in Photoshop/InDesign.

- Tag line: "Raising The Standard". Although this does not necessarily need to be part of the logo.
- Based on a sporran, whether a character or more contemporary interpretation
- Colour scheme: Nothing particular really, although the owner's tartan is County Clare (click here and then choose "district tartan" and choose "Clare" - and yes it is Irish although we are a Scottish company (families!).
- Style: Pretty much open for you to generate the ideas, be as creative as you want ;)

- Although I mention tartan in the wants, we don't want it tartan-based, it is more about the sporran than being tartan
- Pretty much anything else goes.
