Center for Reflective Parenting
We are a group of psychoanalysts and other mental health clinicians in Los Angeles who developed a reflective approach to parenting. We are small but have just expanded services to include the developmental stages pregnancy through adolescence. Our parenting approach strengthens parent-child relationships because parents learn to think about a child's underlying motivations and emotions enabling them to respond more positively to their child's "difficult" behavior. We are educators offering training to other professionals but also need to appeal to parents (the catchy part).
Conte para a gente quem é você e quem é seu público alvo
Twofold: (1) Mental health professionals and child educators (teachers or others who work with children) who come for training and education in how to implement this approach to their parent populations. (2) Parents who sign up for our reflective parenting workshops. The market is full of parenting programs. Ours is unique because we offer a way of thinking about children's behavior rather than prepackaged solutions to problems. Parents get tools and techniques to help them figure things out, thereby improving communication with their child. We appeal to lots of people because we help them understand what's going on emotionally with the child and themselves so difficult interactions become tolerable and manageable rather than a problem that escalates into a fight. A win-win situation. This model has proved particularly valuable for at-risk parents who often use punitive methods of punishment to deal with difficult behaviors.
We are looking for a logo that can represent the educational part but also is friendly and inviting for parents.
No cartoons - we like playful but not silly or childlike
Not too serious - we want to come across as educators but not stuffy
Simple and bold
Check out the website http://www.reflectiveparentingprogram.org - the logo attempts to represent a mother "seeing" her child - we want something that has more of a draw and is more interesting
No real people
It doesn't have to be with a child and parent - but a design that incorporates a sense of connectedness or togetherness
