Overall, we want people to immediately think "strong/powerful" coupled with "media".
We like clean, simple designs (we realize that no design is "simple") -- not a lot of intense, multicolor graphics surrounding a name. Please avoid gaudy and overdone.
Please steer clear of the cliché - a broad wave, an arching "c" shape. See iLead contest, #28 for nice use of "wave" incorporation (other designs we like on the iLead contest are 13, 18, 21, 48).
We do like a retro-modern feel but we want the logo to feel progressive.
Feel free to use initials as the focal point (HVF) although the more we see this the less we feel it is necessary. Use your judgment. KEEP IN MIND: HUDSON VALLEY is one place. So, don't break off HUDSON and minimalize VALLEY, please.
We have an open mind - surprise us. The above are just guidelines. Feel free to think completely out of the box. Simply put, we are a professional film/tv company in a rather serene, progressive area (there are a lot of loft spaces opening up in old brick factories, art museums, etc. and up and coming art community).
