TextMachine (www.textmachine.mobi - under construction)
TextMachine is an SMS based communication platform that enables teams to communicate with each other via SMS. Typical users would be social or corporate groups that need an easy way to announce important news (i.e. a soccer coach to inform their players that a game cannot be played due to weather). The coach would simply send a single SMS to textmachine, which then distributes the message to all players, personalising it in the process. This is cost effective for the team (only one SMS has to be paid for at standard carrier rates) and convenient (players are greeted with their names).
TextMachine also supports the concept of "Votes", where a question can be asked to the group. The coach could ask for example "Please indicate if you are playing this Saturday by replying "YES" to this message" - the system then collects the answers of the players and sends a collective response to the coach "8 players have responded "YES" to your question, while 3 players have responded "NO".
While TextMachine can be operated by SMS only, it also offers a Web 2.0 online interface to support the convenient management of all aspects of group communications.
The target market is really defined by the needs for fast communication - sports clubs, volunteering groups, event based teams (i.e. large corporate, sporting or musical events where a group of people needs to be informed about things that are happening) but also schools and smaller business units in corporations. TextMachine can also be used as a mass marketing tool, although we are aiming more at smaller groups for our initial target market.
The logo should be fresh & simple, and incorporate speed, boldness, convenience and the overall communicative aspect of the service. If you want to associate these attributes with an animal - look for an Australian one as we are based there. You can - but are not required to - use the word 'TextMachine' in your design. TextMachine will be launched in two languages initially (english/german), so there's a global aspect to it. The final results need to be available as Vector graphics.
