We are a family vineyard growing several varietals of grapes along the Naramata Bench in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. We will be selling grapes as well as building a winery and bottling our wine for distribution world wide. We hope this project will set the tone for many designs from website to bottle labels to signage at the vineyard.

Our target audience is wine lovers from 25 - 85. While the typical wine consumer (would consider themselves) slightly more sophisticated, cultured, and adult, we would welcome a bit of fun and edginess in our brand.
The identity needs a dual focus - a bit more conservative for the baby boomer generation who will be investing in the operation, but also appeal to the growing demographic of 20 and 30-somethings that are purchasing our wine.
-Elegant and timeless, clean and professional look
-Simple with few colours, but not just black and white. It's important there is a coloured version, but the logo will be burned on to wine barrels around the vineyard, so it must work well in a monochrome as well.
-Great typography is important
-There is a theme of rosebushes everywhere in the vineyard, including a rose in the design would be good.
-Other graphic design elements are also welcomed if they work well - a vine, grapes, rolling vineyard hills, etc.
-We think it would be fun to include a bit of a cheeky hidden design that highlights the "Horny" in Thorny Vines somehow as well. It's important it be subtle so as not to distract the older conservative crowd, but would still be recognizable to those in the know. Something like having the "T" in thorny be stylized in such a way that it can be read without. We're not really sure how that part will turn out, but are really excited to see what you all can do!
