I'm 19, studying Bachelor of IT at QUT. Came up with an idea whilst trying to sleep, and figured I'd try coding it if only for the experience. Looking to get some solo project work done before I graduate, and this is a good opportunity. Unfortunately I'm no graphic designer :P
Young adults wanting a succinct clear overview of a product and it's competitors. People who don't have the time to delve into 12 page reviews on a product.
This is a fresh, exciting application developed using Django, and google-app-engine written solely in Python. The concept - briefly and without going into ANY detail - revolves around rating peoples short Yays or Nays on a product.
Here is what the website MAY look like: ocau.com/pix/nvo6c
NOTE: These colors are not final, so feel free to use your own. It's not final, but it might give you an idea as to how I am looking at structuring the homepage. Do you like my fancy logo up to :P
The name of the company/website is "YayorNay". Experiment with case combinations if you wish.
I want the logo to be fresh, to be bold and above all simple. I don't want design trends that are in fashion now (letterpress, gradients etc); I want it to be timeless and if people were to look at it in 30 years, it'd still be bold and meaningful.
I'd like it to relate to the concept of Pros or Cons (Yay's or Nay's) somehow. I don't care how, it's just an idea (surprise me). I don't want too many colors (perhaps 2 - 3). I want a Sans-serif font.
Some logo's I am particularly fond of and really give a brand it's identity are:
Be creative, surprise me, and don't be afraid to go bold.
