LetsEatOut
We are a restaurant guide serving Jamaica and the English-speaking Caribbean. Our guides are delivered via print, web, and mobile, and we are now using 2D smart tag technologies to connect the print magazine to our mobile site. A schematics of how this works is attached.
The decals will be inserted in restaurant storefronts to encourage passersby with smart phones (Blackberry, iPhone, etc.) to scan the tag to get additional information about the restaurant on their phone, which they will be able to save and browse at a later time, or to make reservation on the fly. In future, deals may be delivered to users who scan the codes.
We require the design of a decal to be placed in the shop windows and entrance ways of restaurants that will serve two purposes: i) to allow people with smart phones to scan the tags to get additional information on the restaurant, such as menu prices, reviews, etc.; and 2) to strongly promote our brand by making us very visible and encouraging other restaurants to post the decals (a la Zagat).
A number of major companies in the USA are taking similar approach in terms of putting 2D barcodes on decals to allow smartphone users to get additional info on their devices. Google, for example, has Google Places, while Citysearch does something similar.
There should be three prominent information on the decals: our logo (the decal should be called LetsEatOut Top Table ['Top Table' can be less visible] ), the barcode (please use LEO_Mobile_Barcode.jpg), and the name of the restaurant . The barcode technology we are using is from Microsoft, and the image should contain a description of how to get the barcode reader (i.e., "go to gettag.mobi...")
The decals should be large enough so that people walking by can see the tags and scan them from a couple of feet away.
I will require one standard design, and two variations on that design to accommodate slightly different dimensions (one where the length is greater than the width, and the other where the width is greater than the length.)
