We need a full-color flyer, approximately 8.5" (tall) x 3.67" (wide), to put out in display racks in public places. The flyer has to accomplish 2 things:
(1) catch people's attention in a crowded display rack
(2) get people to call the phone number
The purpose of the flyer is not branding or education. The purpose is simply to get people to call the phone number on the flyer.
The flyer will be displayed in places where the audience has an interest in the subject matter, so convincing people to call once they pick up the flyer is not anticipated to be a problem. The primary challenge is to get them to notice the flyer to pick it up. The key words that someone needs to see in a display rack are "Volunteer Attorneys". The less it says the better, just enough to get them to call. Bold colors, objects and words are preferred.
The primary color(s) should be bold and distinctive, but should not include blue or silver (a flyer for an affiliate organization is using blue and silver colors, posted as a separate design contest).
Next, we will create a basic brochure-like website for Texas Volunteer Attorneys, for which we intend to use a stock website template. We want the website to have a visual consistency with the flyer, so design the flyer with that in mind. Part of this project is to provide an initial draft design of a web page so we can be sure design concept used for the flyer will look good on a web page.
The content of the flyer is already written (see attached "Flyer, TVA 2"), but we are open to change.
Rudimentary design concepts are attached (see "Example of flyer components"), but we need someone to design something that is eye catching and looks professional. We would like for the design to contain a Texas flag (versus an American flag which is all we had). Either as a sharp complete image or as a watermark.
The designer shall also create a seal, like the copy of the seal attached (see "Circle Seal Example"), but that says "VOLUNTEER ATTORNEYS" round the top and "TEXAS" around the bottom. This seal may have an outline of the state of Texas and a image of the scales of justice in the center. This seal should be used as a watermark and enlarged so that just enough of it shows so the reader can determine what it says.
This is a 2-sided flyer, but you only have to design one side. Side 2 will be the same as side 1, except in Spanish.
