I want an advert that is clean and crisp, communicates the vibrancy and passion of the art on our site and attracts readers to visit the website and of course implants the name in their memory.
Visitors should be driven to visit the URL:
Our business, International Artists Market Ltd (do not use this name in the advert), established over 10 years, is that of an online art gallery. We act as agents for artists and galleries, providing free, unlimited listings and selling and shipping art all over the world. We provide 1st class service - the artists and galleries love us and a huge proportion of our business is repeat purchases from existing customers.
Currently our primary portal is for South African art (though this need not be overplayed) - the art is of a technically high quality, the vast majority being original unique works in oil or watercolour, but in the affordable art bracket (circa US$500 per item on average). This gives quality art at a reasonable price yet this is /proper/ and serious art from established and (for the most part) professional artists - it comes from the creativity of the artist - this is not Far East Factory art.
The advert should appeal to anyone who appreciates good art and would spend GBP100-GBP1000 on original works for their home or office.
I can provide our logo (as per website) upon request (although TBH a redesign of that may be up for grabs soon).
I can also scan/fax example ads from the hard copy newspaper
The advertisement may also appeal to a sizeable ex-pat South African community in and around London.
Have a browse of the art at the website http://www.southafricanartists.com - especially check out the random listings under the Gallery tab. Art such as that of Raymond Andrews, Philip Steyn, Hannes van der Walt are good examples of work.
Many customers are of course South Africans buying memories of their homeland but we are looking as part of our business strategy to generate a much broader customer base and promote the art in its own right with little or no reference to it being South African. I know this is kind of tricky when the url states it but it's part of your challenge to strike the right balance ;)
You may use, in whole or in part, any images obtained from our website but we would not want to blatantly favour certain artists from those we have listed.
Remember to use UK spelling for this item.
A successful submission for this contest may result in further work as more ads of different sizes are planned.
Go for it and have fun - Good luck!
