Provides educational enrichment and healthful living program for very disadvantaged/poor children in Honduras. Target audience for this logo are primarily potential volunteers (of all ages and from around the world) who are selecting where they would like to go to volunteer. The people who come to HCA are generally (80%) young, educated and open-minded, often multi-lingual and often experienced travelers. These are people who would go to a funky yoga studio / cool coffee shop - - not the white, USA-conservative, “love on those kids” crowd. HCA is diverse and DIFFERENT than most groups working in Honduras and in the NGO field. We are more earthy and hands-on and getting dirty and sweating as we walk to work. Our vols work long-term with the kids and it’s joyful but also hard work.
