The scenario for the painting called for a desert environment in which a crashed space ship stranded the survivors on a planet that served as a prison colony. The scene depicts the moment they set out from the ship to the unknown.

A 3d model was worked on and rendered with proper lighting in keyshot then worked over in Photoshop for the final result.
