Doha Delivery - http://doha-delivery.com
We're setting up an aggregate website that will list all the delivery restaurants in Doha Qatar and eventually allow people to order on-line.
We are two entrepreneurs who ended up in Qatar via our wives' jobs and we're looking to help move the economy forward by starting knowledge based businesses (which Doha currently has a dirth of).
This e-business is just the first of many low-hanging fruit we see potential for here in Qatar (and the greater Gulf region).
Our customers will be ex-pats from around the world and local Qataris.
The site will also be offered in English and Arabic so we will need a design that can go back and forth between the two languages without losing formatting.
Also, the majority of our users will not speak either language particularly well, so we want the design to emphasize the visual and be easily understood by the user as well as culturally pleasing to a wide variety of cultures.
Doha is moving towards ultra-modernity at break-neck speed, but thee-business space is vastly under-served.
Many websites in the Gulf Region are poorly designed and we want to stand out as a vanguard - an e-business that is helping move Doha from an energy/construction based economy to the knowledge economy they want to be.
This site should make users feel like they are in an amazing, modern city.
We need a fluid template design that is beautiful, yet bold but also simple and very clean. The intent of our home page is to get users to search for restaurants, so we're looking for a home page that gets people using the site as quickly as possible (think Google). (No sheet/background combinations)
The home-page should have a simple white background, with a header and logo at the top and a search bar smack in the middle of the page. Users will be able to search for restaurants by name, cuisine or location. An additional menu ("About Us", etc...) should be elegantly put on the page, where the options are easily found but not intrusive or confusing. There should also be a log-on module and Web 2.0 icons, also elegantly built into the page.
There are three primary follow on pages we're looking for:
1. Restaurant Search Results
2. Restaurant Details
3. Restaurant Menu
Color themes we're looking for are going to be earth tones- except we want our primary color to be the color of the Qatar flag. It's a type of burgundy. So we're looking for Burgundy, with reds/deep purples/greys and maybe hints of yellow and orange.
To get an idea of where we're going you can look at our current site: doha-delivery.com.
Our site is hosted externally at Siteground.com and we use a Joomla CMS for which we are building our own components. So the template needs to work with Joomla.
