We educate Canadian readers on personal finance topics such as investing. We'd like something is "professional" but not overly "corporate". Main audience is higher income 25-70 year old Canadians.
Ideais de estilo
Please see our "inspiration websites" for more details here. We're writers and coders - not designers, so we're not sure exactly what style/theme we want. We seek to provide visually-attractive ways for people to interact with our content, with three main goals: i) Have them sign up for our free ebook or free dividend investing webinars. ii) Have them clickthrough a recommended product link. iii) Continue reading throughout the rest of the site. We're open to any ideas on layouts, fonts, illustrations, etc. We do want to keep our logo and colour palate.

1) Homepage is the #1 priority. A Rough MockUp can be found here: https://app.moqups.com/EuzSJnkjoM/view/page/ad64222d5 Please feel free to deviate from this setup, and be as creative as possible with each of those elements. Obviously part of the site’s homepage will remain static, while other parts will change depending on new posts. Please take inspiration for the websites we listed above. Some thoughts that we have (but please feel free to go off the beaten path). i) Way less white space - let’s not waste such valuable “above the fold” real estate. ii) Broaden that pink Start-Here box iii)better design that opt-in for the ebook - maybe it stretches width-wise across the entire site at that point. iv) Drastically shrink (and/or move) the “As Featured In” so that it is a much smaller part of that page. v) We’re thinking the following the top menu - or main navigational paths. About Me | Financial Freedom 101 | Dividend Investing | Index Investing | Canadian Banking| Contact (Perhaps to save menu space, we could use a maple leaf to replace the word “Canadian”) vi) A redesign of the "As Featured In" section - and relocation so that it's not so prominent. 2) A "conversion page" template - These are key review pages for products that we really recommend. Ideally it's SEO-friendly and fairly straightforward to code. Something for this page as an example: https://milliondollarjourney.com/questrade-review.htm 3) This page is quite important to our site: https://milliondollarjourney.com/top-10-canadian-dividend-growth-stocks.htm We intend to keep updating it in order to provide new information, and to drive people to the paid for dividend-investing service that is featured. We are not conversion specialists, and we'd love to see some ideas on how to best get people to sign up for the free webinar + dividend email course. 4) A standard blog post page for non-conversion articles 5) This page is very important as well: https://milliondollarjourney.com/review-canadian-discount-brokerages.htm We need to balance a table of contents element, with more attractive design elements. Our primary goal is to get people to click through to our Questrade brokerage (most recommended brokerage)
O que evitar
Please keep the colour palate exactly how it is now.
Some other goals we have: i) We are clueless on fonts and spacing, so multiple looks at different options would be great on those fronts. ii) We'd love to see a unique header, that is slim and remains static throughout the site. (Our current one feels a bit dated and clunky i think.) iii) We need some help on the eBook opt/in strategy for our main mailing list that you can see on the front page. The ebook is ready to go, it's a great informational product, and we're offering it for free. We just need to figure out how to best show it off.
