New Online Retailer Needs Fresh and Clean Design

Online Shopping Discounts

Online Shopping Discounts has been created to give customers the opportunity to shop for Brand Name products online, at discount prices. We are in launch stage at the moment, and currently require our site designed in such a way that it makes a positive impact with customers from day one.

Target Audience is primarily people whom shop online between the ages of 25 - 60. Male or Female. Ideally the look of the site will appeal to all visitors in positive manner.

Starting from the top:
Ideally we would like the header section to feature the Category list in a Tabbed format. We intend to have many categories, so this needs to be designed in such a way that it promotes scalability, whilst being easy to read / navigate. For example of the scalability, could your designs please feature 20 categories (Category 1, Category 2, Category 3 etc...) so as we can visuallise what your tabbed header will come to look like.

Underneath the tabbed category headings, we will require thumbnail images for each of the categories. Ideally we would like 7 icons across, keeping the existing site width of 950px. I have uploaded a brief sample to the live site for your reference:

The next section is the Daily Discount section. This is a display panel which will include one product daily, which represents saving or is of interest to our customers - this would need to be positioned to fit where outlined, include the heading "The Daily Discount" and product thumb underneath, with heading, price, RRP Price and Buy Now image featured in this panel.

Under this section we will be placing banner ads / thumbnails of product or various designs. Could you please tile these product thumbnails 5 or 6 across x 4 rows.

In the footer section we would like to have something neater then present. I will leave it to you to design the footer section.

http://www.appliancesonline.com.au - Concept of this site is good. Category thumbnails, footer section and category Tabs at the top. Something clean and similiar to this would suit.

http://www.dealsdirect.com.au - Like the design, layout and feel of this site. Something similiar with respects to their layout would also be applicable.

http://www.oo.com.au - like the design and layout of their site. Plenty of room for promotional sections.
