Stylish, professional website for Physical Activity research study using texting and Fitbits
Confira aqui o concurso de Design de site de Marc Adams...
We are a research team within Arizona State University’s (ASU), School of Nutrition and Health Promotion testing physical activity programs for the public. "WalkIT" Arizona stands for Walking Interventions through Texting, as we use texting to encourage walking and incorporate physical activities into everyday life (walking with friends, taking the stairs, riding mass transit, etc). We do not want to promote weight loss - we are focused on health through regular physical activity (mainly walking). And people are randomized into our programs, so they cannot choose one specifically. Please avoid "fitness model" type images - we want a diversity of men, women, and body types represented on our website. Please include walking images; running is unlikely for most people. Also, images of urban landscapes, mass transit use, or residential neighborhoods are important as we are also studying the built environment and urban form. We're based in Phoenix AZ images of the desert, saguaro cactus or related local-regional images are appreciated. Our target audience is men and women 18-60 years old interested mobile phones and wearable technology (text messages and activity monitors (Fitbits)). We are not a gym or fitness center, but a research group that develops new technologies. Our aim is to recruit potential study participants into our programs. The homepage will act as a landing page for all of our marketing materials (door hangers, direct mail campaign, Facebook ads, other lead generators will point to the homepage). The homepage page will inform prospective study participants about the study and ultimately guide those interested in participating to our pre-screening survey (via Qualtrics survey system) to see if they qualify to be a participant in the research study. [fyi - qualtrics is like SurveyMonkey] The program is free to everyone and participants earn incentives (gift cards) for participating the study worth up to $365.
Ideais de estilo
We will leave this up to the designer, but we are thinking that a parallax scrolling site would be a good approach with tabs on top that are alway present and follow someone’s scrolling down. Also, the site needs to be responsive, i.e. it needs to be usable on smartphones and tablets in addition to PC browsers
Descrição das páginas
We would like tabs on the top of the landing page that include: (1) Homepage, (2) See if you qualify, (3) Current Participants, and (4) FAQ. Page 1: Homepage - We want a big featured image of people engaging in physical activity such as walking. This image slides/scrolls with corresponding messages inviting people to participate (similar to a landing page). This page should direct people to take the screening survey to see if they qualify for the study. The homepage should provide an area for static content (text) to encourage participants and some basic info about us. Arizona State University is well respected in Phoenix Arizona and would help our credibility to highlight our affiliation using our logos. Page 2: See if you qualify - This tab should take participants to page that lists the benefits of participating (text we can provide). It should also have a big button that says “Click here to see if you qualify” or something simple like that. This button will link to a Qualtrics survey that we have designed to screen potential participants and collect their contact information (link: https://co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/preview/SV_aaQzRW360gFjj3D). Should include several sections within this page that communicate: (a) benefits (b) eligibility (c) expectations (d) join us or see if you qualify. See example site above: https://web.archive.org/web/20120626071327/http://www.smarthealthstudy.com/ . We would like to provide short lists of text for (a) benefits (b) eligibility (c) expectations. We can fill in the text, but the benefits would include a bulleted lists such as those provided on the site above. Page 3: Current Participants - This tab should take people who have already signed up to an OAuth 2.0-based login page. This page and the member pages of the site will be developed in-house, i.e. the site will only contain whatever buttons, tabs or links that would take the user to the login page. Page 4: FAQ - We can provide this text at a later date, but it is essentially similar to the site noted above. We can provide people with our contact information too. Contact info can be included too: Email :email@example.com Phone: (480) 818-5310 Physical Address Arizona State University Exercise Science and Health Promotion 425 N. 5th Street Phoenix, AZ 85004 Page 5: Mobile– A version of the above for mobile devices. We would like to see the adaptation of the PC version of the homepage and "see if you qualify page" adapted to a mobile device, such as a Tablet or Phone, on a single page. Showing us both is a plus.
O que evitar
Can use images and logos from: ASU School of Nutrition and Health Promotion: https://www.asu.edu/asuthemes/4.0-rsp-up.0/images/logos/snhp-logo.png National Institutes of Health (partner) https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:US-NIH-NCI-Logo.svg Arizona State University’s communication guide provides color options that elicit the feeling of being closely associated with ASU. They have traditional ASU maroon and gold along with several other palettes: https://commguide.asu.edu/standards/color-palette An example of color use from another (unrelated) research project : http://devilsparc.weebly.com/ (for color scheme)
We have attached a flyer from our old study to get a sense of how we've done things in the past. WalkIT Arizona is different from this old study (just called WalkIT) in a few ways: (a) changed from 4-month study to a 2-year study, (b) we're no longer focused only on overweight/obese adults but anyone who is inactive, including normal weight adults.
