zeitcaster
Zeitcaster gives you the ability to discover local events based on your current location. You can also discover events in places that you will be traveling to. Our team of editors enters in time and location data and categorizes each event so you can discover the events happening around you. We have advanced tools to help you search and organize the thousands of events we list every month.
Our target audience are busy people who have a lot of planning to do. They have to plan for children, aging parents and their friends and partners. We want the events to be easy to discover and the search tools easy to use. Our research has shown our target market is female aged 30-55
I like the overall design of the Zeitcaster site. Most of the pages are in Wordpress. The actual application is done in Django. The main page we are working on for this contest is a django page https://zeitcaster.com/events/
We are looking for something simple and trustworthy. The listings are what should stand out. We consider our site a reference for all listings in an area. It should be clean and the UI should be intuitive.
I should mention that we use bootstrap for our javascript environment and we also use Font Awesome for many of our icons.
You can keep the current global header on all pages.
We developed a Style Guide with 99 Designs and it is a good guide for what we are looking for. I have attached it to this brief along with our logo.
For the qualifying round I would like to work on items 1a and 1b. They are both elements of our events summary page. (https://zeitcaster.com/events/) Once we pick the finalists we will work on items 2 and 3. Collectively this contest is for 4 pages.
The main goal of this contest to to redesign the pages with a mobile browser in mind. The winning design will look good on browsers on a desktop, tablet and cell phone. We do have an iOS which I encourage you to look at too.
You do not need to redesign the global page header that is on all the pages.
1a) Search Results Page Header. Please look at image '99D-search-results-wireframe' for a wireframe idea. I also include images '99D-date-picker-web' and '99D-date-picker-app' to show what we have built as a prototype for the web and iOS.
a) change current location
b) change search radius
c) date picker
d) a better way to toggle between Events and POIs
1b) Search Results
a) Bandsintown search result items are the model. Look at how they do an event summary listing.
b) basic listing. What a typical non-paid listing will look like. We also need to see what a POI listing will look like. POI summary listings can be seen here https://zeitcaster.com/events/#pois
c) paid listing. include image and room for short description text.
d) divider for grouping search results. Text for divider might be; Sponsored Events, Highlighted Events, Ongoing Events.
e) interstitial ad text. we are going to have our own internal text based ads. These will contain a small amount of text highlighting a feature. They also may be inspirational quotes. They may contain a call to action, like "Tell us what type of events you would like to see"
After we select finalist we'll work on these remaining three pages.
2) Event Detail Page & POI Detail Page
a) Event Detail = https://zeitcaster.com/events/event…nt-near-e/
b) POI Detail = https://zeitcaster.com/events/poi/m…um-of-art/
3) Advanced Search Page. You should create an account to see what a full featured Advanced Search looks like.
a) same functionality new design
b) https://zeitcaster.com/events/search
