Janus Rating
The Janus movie rating is looking to change how movies are rated. A movie shouldn't only be judged by whether it is good or bad. We all know some terrible movies that are so fun to watch. The Janus rating will therefore provide two ratings: 1) How good is the movie? This relates to plot, character development, screenplay, etc; and 2) How rad is the movie? This relates to other aspects of the movie that makes it fun/rad/awesome. Deep down I feel that most know what I mean. Does it makes sense that dinobots exist? No. But are they awesome?
Yes. To put it another way, there aren't 8 Fast and Furious movies because of their plot. The Janus rating is looking to provide two independent rating scales that give a better impression of what to expect from the movie.
Janus Rating is aimed at people ranging in ages from about mid teen and up. In other words people who take the time to look up movie ratings.
The logo is attached for reference and was thinking of keeping with the same color scheme.
1) HOME PAGE -- For the opening page I envision a site that has the look and feel closer to those of the comic movies (marvel.com/movies, http://www.dccomics.com/movies) or Fandango. I like the content from Rotten Tomatoes but not the look. It should have a section showcasing newer movies with their ratings (both from this site and other). Movie news and possibly popular trailers.
2) MOVIE PAGE -- When someone clicks on a movie they interested in, it would be nice to have a layout where you see play the trailer, has photos of the movies, a movie synopsis, and if possible local theaters and times for the movie. It would be nice if there was a way for people to submit their own ratings
The idea to me is kind of light hearted and I would like the styling to reflect that.
